I am currently in my third year of studying BA English Language and Literature, which has allowed me to become a critical and creative thinker. I learned how to use and optimise software such as Canva and Microsoft through various projects and assignments while studying.
For the last two years I was involved in a student-led magazine called Ohana. I was a consistent writer, which led to me creating over ten articles for the magazine. This experience allowed me to:
• Generate ideas for stories and article ideas.
• Proofreading and editing written work to an enhanced standard.
• Ability to operate and utilize Microsoft Office programmes.
• Built a confident and refined writing style.
• Working in a collaborative environment and thriving in a team.
• Fact checking proposal ideas for articles.
• Critical thinking to enable and depict diverse objectives.

I've been working as a trainee at a digital marketing firm for the past year. This experience has provided me with knowledge of the marketing industry, with my tasks including running a social media campaign and paid writing for a series of blogs that will be launched on an upcoming website re-branding. To help me with these projects, I frequently used social media apps such as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. This hands-on experience taught me the value of communication between a company and a freelancer, which I will nurture in my future endeavours.
I've also completed certified courses in SEO, content writing, copy writing, and business content writing. I have gained extensive industry knowledge that will assist me in increasing engagement with target audiences, as well as understanding and communicating with them more effectively.
During my second year of university, I worked as an archive assistant at the School of Art as part of my work placement module. Daily responsibilities included cataloging a collection on an Excel spreadsheet to create metadata for a digital archive and conducting research to write an essay about the newly discovered data. I also spent time assisting in the planning of an exhibition that would showcase the work of art students, which required me to communicate with BA students and proofread their work, which would then be turned into posters for the exhibition. I also took on new tasks that pushed me outside of my comfort zone, such as supervising and coordinating with print services to print the exhibition posters.
I began private tutoring in March 2021 and continued for over a year. This was a fantastic opportunity that allowed me to gain in-depth knowledge of MS Teams while tutoring online during the pandemic. I was constantly challenged to think outside the box in order to develop engaging and creative lessons. Through the organisation of these lessons, I learned the value of time management in order to accomplish the lesson objectives and spend the time wisely.
