I am a student of English Language and Literature at The University of Leeds. I have been described by past employers as personable yet professional, and always reliable! About Me!:
-During my time as an English Language and Literature university student I have written many high quality pieces, one of which won me the JS Canon Purvis Prize for academic excellence.
I am very fluent in Canva, Word, Google Docs and Slides, and linguistic data analysis programs such as AntConc.
My passion for assisting others can also be seen in my volunteer work; I have worked with teams to provide creative ‘fun days’ for children both at my local church, and a school in Mumbai, India.
What are my key skills?:
-Editing: I have edited CVs for work experience and always provide a professional service. In such work, I have gone over writing with clients multiple times, helping them until the finished product is absolutely perfect. I
-Customer Relations: I have excellent customer service experience, thanks to my work as a hairdresser. I have easily developed and maintained professional relationships, earning me many repeat customers. Due to this job, phone-based work such as problem solving over telephone, keeping note of appointments, financial tracking, and client management are just some of my strong points.
-Article Publishing and Social Media Management: I am a member of the HerCampus society, an online article publishing project. On top of writing these articles I have been to society meetings wherein I have joined discussions on how to promote articles on our HerCampus social media accounts, giving me an in-depth insight on how to advertise brands online.
-Creative/ Script writing: I am additionally a member of the Manchester Royal Exchange script writers’ group, a team wherein I am working alongside directors and actors to produce a new piece that will eventually be performed. I love acting as a team member and generating ideas to work towards a common goal. As well as a team player, however, I am also a highly independent person, and I am confident leading a project or a group using my initiative.
-Marketing: During my time at university, I have completed analyses on the behavior of humans and our language/ reaction to language, from social, political, and biological standpoints. This, alongside my year-long “Psychology in the Media” course allows me to understand what language should be used in specific marketing schemes.
