Hi! My name is Susmi and I am a Master's student at the University of Manchester studying Health Data Science.

I have one year's commercial experience in software development and I have worked with several organisations to complete administerial tasks like managing Excel spreadsheets, content writing, answering emails and sorting content and materials for events.

I am looking to expand my skill set and hopefully use my software development and data analysis skills.

Work experience

Reslife Advisor

I help students in University-managed accommodation with queries and issues like mess and noise complaints. I also run events for students like games night and Holi celebration.

Accommodation office intern

I helped manage the accommodation email inbox and their associated Excel spreadsheets.

Student Ambassador

I assisted at events like open days and student workshops and gave campus tours and student life talks. I also assisted with administration duties like answering emails and managing Excel spreadsheets.

Online Support Champion & Student Admin Assistant

I assisted with email administrative duties and item record-keeping, which includes using software programs like Excel and SharePoint. I created and updated materials and content for events at secondary schools and colleges including student life talks and Articulacy.

Software Developer Intern

I worked on numerous client and company-specific projects and services. I quality tested work and presented my progress at staff and client meetings

Code Club volunteer

I provided support to children on coding in languages like Scratch, HTML and Python. I worked as part of a team of volunteers to engage and inspire primary school children in coding.

Skills

Software development and bug fixing

I am proficient in Javascript, Java, C# and Python. I can also develop in HTML, CSS and React. I can carry out code reviews, fix bugs and develop code for small-medium-sized tasks. I am happy to help with frontend and backend development

I can use R to perform pre-processing of data and find trends. I can also use Tableau and Excel to create data visualisations.
