Hello, I'm Karan and I am a final-year law student at the University of Warwick and a future trainee solicitor at a top city law firm in London.
My top 3 skills are my resilience, adaptability, and ability to simplify complexities.
Key Work Experience:
Legal Intern at Reed Smith LLP. I worked with Associates on various contractucal agreements and drafted amendments in time pressured situations.
Paralegal. I digitalised the firm's filing and archive system, boosting security and office space by over 50%. I also prepared submissions to the High Court of Singapore and organised case files for Partners.
Ammunition Assistant at Singapore Armed Forces. I consolidated over 3,000 soldier reports and scheduled meetings between high ranking Army officials. I also conducted ammunition and fitness training during my 2 years in service.
Front-Desk Receptionist. I was a front-desk receptionist at a law firm, where I greeted clients and communicated with them to arrange meetings. I also improved the firm's online presence by proposing multiple changes to their website, making it more interactive.
Key Extra-Curricular Activities:
Treasurer (Warwick Law Society). In this role, I negotiated over £22,000 from over 20 law firms to sponsor various events held by the Soceity. I also prepared contractual agreements to finalise these sponsorships.
Founding President (Warwick Skin Care Society). I founded the Society during the initial COVID-19 lockdown and recruited over 200 members in 2 months. I also appointed an executive team of 11, hosted various events such as DIY face masks and spa days during revision season. This popularity enabled me to secure collaborations with market-leading retailers such as The Body Shop.
Campus Ambassador (Aspiring Solicitors). I was the Campus Ambassador for a company focused on increasing diversity and inclusion in commercial law. I created multiple social media accounts and hosted various webinars on diversity to boost the company's brand. Overall, I recruited over 90 new members, exceeding my target by 50%.
